Quantitative and Qualitative Data

Quantitative Data is the information that can be measured and written down with numbers.

Qualitative Data is the information that can't actually be measured.

Example :

1. Howard just celebrated his father 56th birthday.                                     [Quantitative]
2. My mom chose red color for her attire today.                                          [Qualitative]
3. Mary won the softness of her cat at the competition.                              [Qualitative]
4. The Polo t-shirt brand new cost $67 each.                                              [Quantitative]

Primary and Secondary Data

Primary Data is the data that observed or collected directly from first-hand experience.

Secondary Data is the data that collected from what the primary data or another parties know.

Example :

1, A soldier wrote a letter to her wife about war events he experienced.

   The letter is primary data.

2. Paul wrote a biography on the life of Martin Luther. 

    This is a secondary data because it was written about him after he died.

3. Linda Hudson wrote her autobiography about her life called "My life :The Autobiography of Linda Hudson".

   This is a primary data because she wrote her first-hand experience.

4. Cathy collected her sister result exam due to her sister admitted to hospital.

    This is secondary data because the result is not directly collected by her sister.

Discrete and Continuous Data

Discrete Data can be counted and they can take particular values. 

Continuous Data results when measuring things like length, time and mass and It cannot be measured exactly.

Example :

1. The heights of the model in USA.                                                                
[Continuous]

2. The number of goals scored by England of first stage in UEFA Euro 2016.  

[Discrete]

3. The speed with which Neymar Jr kicks the ball to score the winning goal for FC Barcelona.                                                                                                         
[Continuous]

4.The number of people wins the lucky draw for Hari Raya.                          
[Discrete]
